First steps to planning your Wedding
First of all - CONGRATULATIONS!!! ❤
What happens next? Planning a wedding can feel like a daunting task but here are some tips to make things a bit easier for you and more enjoyable too.
Most importantly - have a good chat with each other about what you both want your day to be. This means you can ensure that you both have input into how your day should be and also no surprises along the way if you have talked things over first. it can be very useful to have a planning tool in place so you can keep track of everything as you go - this can be a simple as a note book or binder with everything noted down or a spreadsheet. Set up a wedding email address that you can both access and that way you wont lose any email threads in day to day life. Use it for all your wedding related correspondence. I heartily recommend looking into Wedding Insurance as life can throw us all curve balls and this will give you peace of mind.
Ask yourselves some questions such as -
Where should we get married ? How many people do we plan to invite daytime and Evening? When do we want to have our wedding?
As this is likely to be the largest expense in your Wedding so you need to look at what you want your day to look like and then also what works for you for location, size and dates. Look at the venues packages carefully as some include lots of extras. Create a short list, check their availability for your chiosen dates and then arrnge to visit the venues. Many will have Open Days which means you should be able to see the ceremony and reception rooms all set up for a wedding.
You may be marrying in a church and then moving on to your reception venue but if not then you need to find a Licenced Celebrant or Registrar. This is where Wedding Fayres and research can help you choose. Ask yourself what kind of vibe you want for your marriage ceremony - fun & relaxed, ceremonial/traditional … you can then look at who fits into your vibe. Once you have a shortlist then social media research will tell you where you can meet them face to face and the easiest way to get some first impressions is to visit the Wedding Fayres and Open Days they are attending.
Wedding Fayres are then a great place to chat with other wedding vendors like Bridal Dress Shops/Kilt Outfitters, Photographers, Florists, Wedding Decor companies, Cake makers, Stationery and other wedding professionals that can offer things to enhance your day.
