First steps to planning your Wedding

Top Tips to help you start your Wedding Planning journey.

First of all - Congratulations!!!

It can be quite daunting knowing where to start planning your wedding so here are a few tips to help you on your journey.

Have a good chat with each other about what is important to you both for your Wedding Day. This means you will be able to set down some ideas that you both like, know each others expectations of the day and talk through what budget you have for your wedding planning. The last part can be difficult because you haven’t had to plan a wedding before and probably don’t know what things cost. Completely understandable.

Research venues where you would like to get married and check the packages they offer. This can often tick off some of the things you want for your day as many venues offer some extras in their different packages. Check availablity - if you have a date in mind then that is great but being flexible with your dates can give you a wider choice of venues. Also choosing a date that is not a Saturday can often be a little cheaper. You can get married any day of the week and many venues offer packages for this.

Then visit the venues oj your shortlist. Many will Open Days where you will be able to see rooms set up for ceremonies, wedding breakfasts and see if they work for you.

Once you have your Venue secured and you know everything that is included with any package you have chosen then you can start to plan the rest of your Day.

You need someone to marry you - whether it be the Registrar or a licenced Celebrant. This is where visiting Wedding Fayres can be so beneficial as you can actually met them face to face and get a first impression before you book. The popular choices will be booked quite far in advance so a shortlist is a great idea.

After these important bookings are made then you can look at wedding attire, wedding decor, photographer/videographer flowers, entertainment, hair & make up and all the other things you want for your ceremony and reception that are not included by your venue. This is another good shout for visiting some wedding fayres and meeting different wedding vendors to help you choose. We have made up a handy checklist for you to help you on your wedding planning journey.

Happy Planning 💕
